I Won The Versatile Blogger Award!

The Versatile Blogger Award

A big thank you to Armchair Squid for nominating me for The Versatile Blogger Award.  I am truly honored.  He has a great blog at Armchair Squid.  Go check it out!

Here are the instructions for the lucky recipients:

1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

2. In the same post, add the Versatile Blogger Award.

3. In the same post, thank the blogger who nominated you in a post with a link back to their blog.

4. In the same post, share 7 completely random pieces of information about yourself.

5. In the same post, include this set of rules.

6. Inform each nominated blogger of their nomination by posting a comment on each of their blogs.

7 Random Things About Me:

1.   In the early 90s I traveled around the States, Russia, Belarus, The Netherlands, Germany, Prague and Denmark with The Continentals, a Christian music group, for 4 months.

2.   My family moved once in my lifetime, one street down.  My house is less than half mile from the second house where my dad still lives.

3.  I know this is going to sound strange but I do not like Ketsup and I am not a big fan of chocolate.  Weird, I realize!

4.  I am a Florida State football fanatic although I didn't go to school there.  I went to a music conference there in high school and fell in love with the school.

5.  I love to kayak and I try to go to the Nantahala River every summer where I have whitewater kayaked.  My boyfriend just finished building his third boat, which we took out today!

6.   Every year for Christmas, I cross-stitch ornaments for gifts to all my family.  I have been doing this for the past 14 years.  I have to start a few months early in order to get them finished and shipped in time.

7.   I am fascinated with Orca whales and would love to get more involved in anti-whaling campaigns such as Sea Shephard but I can't seem to find the time.  I think Orcas, also known as Killer Whales, have the perfect combination of beauty and power.

Now it's your turn.  And the nominees are:

  5. I am so flattered! Thank you for nominating me, I look forward to composing a post worthy of your award! :-) I love the fact that your boyfriend builds kayaks, and what a beautiful picture of his most recent creation! Also, I love that you traveled so extensively, but I am saddened to learn of your love of that "other" university (you know, what with me being a Gator Girl thru and thru....) LOL Thanks for sharing such interesting facts about yourself! I think I have my work cut out for me!

  10. Hi Heather! Thank you so much for the award, I really appreciate it. I enjoyed reading about you too. I don't like Ketsup either so I am with you there. And I agree about Orcas, they are phenomenal animals. The ornaments are such a great idea, I bet your friends and family love them.

Thanks again for thinking of me!

    1. We are a rare breed who do not like Ketsup :) I started the ornaments because I married into a big family and wanted to give gifts but we were broke. We are not together anymore but the tradition continues with my family!

  12. Just found your blog. Great post!! “Normal” is what I’m striving for…
Thank you so much for this. It is wonderful. I really appreciate all of the input ad details.
Just that part about happiness made this probably the best blog you’ve ever written.

After many of months trying to get into Posts Genius I have finally got into it. They are one of the biggest pay you 2 blog networks that I know of. They will give you money to do blog reviews. On their website they have a full blog ethics page that the blogger has to follow.
Posts Genius is an advertising system that connects bloggers and advertisers in an online marketplace, where advertisers can hire bloggers to write and publish targeted blog posts and reviews of websites, services, or products.
    Here’s the link: http://www.postsgenius.com/blogger/

I think this is a good idea to have because it is a standard that you have to follow. It is easy to understand and it is in black and white.

You earn a 15% commission of all amounts an advertiser spends at Posts Genius, and you can request your commission immediately - NO WAITING!

  13. Thanks, Heather, I'm sorry it took so long to get to this! It's been crazy around here for a while now! Oh.. and I don't like ketsup either, can't even stand the smell of it! When I was little I ate it on everything! Funny.. I do love chocolate though, except for cake and ice cream.
