IWSG - New Project

I have really struggled with writing for the past few months.  I haven't been blogging, I haven't been writing, and I was starting to question even pursuing either any longer.

Then recently I had an idea that I hope is going to be a great new project.  It is in the planning stages and I hope to get started full force by the end of the month.  I'm excited and I feel like this is a project that I can be passionate about and totally immerse myself in.

The problem:  I can't tell you what it is!  It is going to be a long term investigation project and I just feel like in order to maintain the long term impact I am hoping it will have, I don't want to talk about it too much.

Hint:  The project will be more centered on issues that I post about on my Ocean Advocate blog, so you might want to follow there.  In general, I am posting more often there anyway.

The downfall:  I want to be completely immersed in this project so I probably still won't be blogging very often but I will still try to check in from time to time.  I have missed visiting you all but I haven't forgotten you.

  1. There was a universal writers slump that began around Fall. Don't worry. Spring will turn it back around. :D I think. lol

  2. Blending your new writing project with your passion for the Ocean Advocate sounds like a winner to me, Heather. Keep the specifics under wraps while everything is still fragile. Give it room to shift around a bit and settle. This is your very heart! It will be wonderful -- both process and product. Go for it!

  3. Hurray for a new idea for a project! That is such an exciting feeling. Best of luck with it! Glad to meet you through the IWSG. :)

  4. I agree with Suze, writing project + passion = winner. :) Don't be so hard on yourself. Wishing you all the best with your new project!!

  5. I can really see you combining your love of the ocean and your writing, Heather. I wish you tonnes of luck and inspiration. Let us know how it goes, even if you can't go into details!

  6. Heather do what you have to do! That is what's important, all your blogging friends completely understand. I think we all need to follow our heart to complete our journey!

    Good luck!

  7. It's a passion of yours, so by all means pursue it! Will need to pop in and check on it now and then.

  8. How nice. You should go with what rocks your, er.. ship? Boat? Help me out here, ocean-related stuff is not my forte:)

  9. Although it's our loss...I'm happy that your so excited about the new project! Good luck with it! :)

  10. I'm glad you have a new inspiration - that's what is most important! Hopefully in future we will be seeing you around here more.

Going to check out your other blog.

    Hi Heather,

This the first time that I am participating in the IWSG-blog hop.

If you have found a project that really means something to you, keep it under wraps! Keep it a secret! Keep the door closed until you know where it's going and that it won't die on you.

Actually, I've written a little about this idea of keeping new ideas a secret on my post for IWSG blog hop.

If you have the time you can read what I wrote on my blog. But if you don't have the time, that's alright too.

Keep working at your project. You can get back to blogging later.

    Best wishes,
