My Happy Place

When I thought about what to blog about today, I was petrified by how pessimistic I was.  Yikes!  I think I need a vacation...Thankfully I have one coming up soon.  Until then, I will just post a picture of my happy place.  This is Looking Glass Falls in Pisgah National Forest in NC and it is one of my favorite places ever.  Beautiful!

You can actually walk down to the bottom of the falls also but I don't have any pictures of the bottom.  If you are ever in the area, you should check it out.

Where is your happy place?

  1. Thinking of your happy place is such a worthwhile way to pass the time! Happy writers are probably far more productive - never mind all that angst and starving in a garret for our art! My happy place is Looe in Cornwall, England. I live too far away to get there often, but when I get there it just feels like home :-)

  2. My happy place is cruising the inside passage in Alaska. *sigh* :)

  3. Linda, I was having such a bad day yesterday that I had to go to my happy place to "bring it back" Ha ha! Thanksfully today is better.

I have been all over the world but sadly have never been to England or Alaska
    :( Maybe one day...

  4. Hi - for turning word verification off, I recommend checking out J.A. Bennett's blog post on the matter:

  5. Hi Heather! I'm visiting from the A to Challenge List, getting a head start on finding some great new blogs. Nice to meet you! I find it best not to publish posts I write on negative days. I may write them, save, then go back and revise for a more positive slant to publish later. I learned not to just automatically click that publish button! I like your idea of going to a happy place when feeling down.

  7. Trisha, thanks for the tip! I think I changed it but if you could verify for me, it would be greatly appreciated

Karen, thanks for stopping by. I was always taught "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" and I couldn't help but think that as I published that post. It was a tough day! Thanks for the tip :)

Judy, thanks so much for stopping by and following! I spend many evenings with my dog and a book. That is a happy place :) but I love NC too!

  8. There you go. A visualisation of that happy place and a happy focus. Good for you for posting this positive distraction and counteract those pessimistic feelings.
Take care and keep smiling :)
    In kindness, Gary

  9. Cool! I've been to Looking Glass Falls but it was 30 or 40 years ago. Pisgah National Forest is a beautiful area. I love the mountains! One of my happy places would be the Look Rock Observation Tower on Chilhowee Mountain in Blount County Tennessee--the place that's my home in my heart.
