I apologize in advance because it seems that this blogfest is going to make me look like a complete sap but...
Favorite movie genre...Romantic dramas and Romantic comedies
A couple of my favorites would have to be:
The Notebook
and Dirty Dancing
Favorite music genre...I am a rocker at heart, particularly when it comes to 80s hair bands, but even they had some rockin' power ballads.
Favorite book genre
I bet you don't even have to read on to figure this one out. Once again, the romance lives on, of course this could be done in a number of ways...romantic fiction, romantic comedy, chik lit...well you get the idea
And for guilty pleasure...drum roll please...
Oh, come on! Aren't these ALL guilty pleasures??? :)
Am I the only one stuck in a rut???
I do watch, read and listen to a wide variety but these are my favorites.
Sorry for the cheese...does anybody have any wine?
I've never seen The Notebook, never watch a movie that I know ahead of time will make me cry. Love Dirty Dancing, and ballads, and yes all guilty pleasures. I see nothing cheesy here! :)
ReplyDeleteDirty Dancing is okay thanks to Patrick Swayze.
ReplyDeleteI love rock from the 80s, but I'm more into Queen than Poison.
Nice choices!
I haven't seen The Notebook though...
Oh yes Dirty Dancing! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAll right, someone's in a lovely dovey mood!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good genre to me:) Great individual picks too!
ReplyDeleteHeather, I love your answers! They are extremely endearing -- especially after the disclaimer. :)
ReplyDeleteI love romance in any form!
ReplyDeletewait... dirty dancing was a romance? i was to believe it was a horror film... are you sure.

Rocker chick! And your favorite movies was my guilty pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in my blogfest.
Dirty Dancing is definitely one of my favs, and who doesn't love a bit of romance in their life. Great choices.
ReplyDeleteHey, I like your list. I'm pretty sappy, too!
ReplyDeleteI applaud your honesty - no shame!
ReplyDeleteUm no shame as in because there's no reason to be ashamed. We like what we like and art is subjective. ;)
ReplyDelete^Yeah, what she said!!!
DeleteBut I'll pour you a glass of McMannis Cabernet Sauvignon anyway, Heather, 'cause it'll go down so nicely with "Dirty Dancing." ;-)
Some Dark Romantic
80's hair bands. Oh my gosh, those were sometimes so awful and so good at the same time :) Great list! I love how unapologetic you are about your tastes! As you should be!
ReplyDeleteSigned,
Another rock chick at heart!
Nothing wrong with enjoying Romance! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to echo what The Golden Eagle said because I love that scene in The Notebook, the whole of Dirty Dancing and Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those movies too. Now I have that song in my head, and I didn't even play the video. I'm pretty sure Poison played at a concert my daughter saw this summer - Lita Ford performed too. How awesome is that?!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather, I love the cheese and I'd be pleased to raise a glass of wine to your choices. Love those movies. Message in a Bottle is another goody along these lines. No doubt you've seen it too.
ReplyDeleteLove your list of faves, and yeah I am total sap when it comes to romance movies or books. :) All those years of reading romances I guess. :) Enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeleteRomantic movies - yup, I'm with you there. And Dirty Dancing is an all time favorite. But with apologies to an earlier commenter, I thought Jennifer Grey made that film.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny, Heather. I love the term 80's Hair bands ... lol
ReplyDeleteSuch a romantic.... Nothing wrong with that! In fact it's charming.
Romance is in the air. I think it's funny that I write romance but I didn't pick it as my favorite.
ReplyDeleteFunny or maybe sad.
Great list.
Thanks for sharing.
Heather
There's nothing wrong with liking similar things in different formats (movies, books, etc.). :)
ReplyDeleteI love the '80s power ballads! I grew up on the hair bands and they're songs are nostalgic for me now.
ReplyDeleteComplete Saps Unite!! ;) Hi, Heather. Apologize for nothing, my friend. I write horror, but love Rom Coms and 70's & 80's power ballads. Love the list!
